One of the most eye-catching designs we spotted at ICFF this year was Mixko’s 100% wool felt butterfly lamps called “Delight”. Inspired by nature, these truly delightful lamps are soft, playful, beautiful, and sustainable to boot due to their smart and efficient use of felt. When lit, the cut-out butterfly silhouettes cast playful shadows on the walls and ceiling.
“Delight” lampshades come in Sky Blue, Cream, Blossom Pink and Ruby Red, and must be used with energy efficient light bulbs - Max 20w.
FLUTTERING BUTTERFLY LAMPby NK
Lauren Moriarty has developed a beautiful lamp based on the optical illusions that are created from layering multiple images in front of a light source. This pseudo-moir effect comes to life when viewed from different angles, as the butterflies appear to flutter. These “Butterfly Effect” lamps make the most of a relatively simple idea, juxtaposing patterns to create movement. Released at London’s Design Week last year, these delightful lamps are part of Moriarty’s studies of illusion in domestic products.
